christex!
so today was a brilliantly successful xmas day :)
it all began with challah french toast (which i made with mommy!) and bagels with lox for breakfast, on authentic vintage art deco plates (dad's real proud of those). and buckets of coffee, as that is the Rosenthal way.
after that we were all lazy for a few hours before we went to the local indie theatre with the rest of the jews to catch a flick. we chose to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

it was really good, i highly recommend you go see it. afterwards we went out for indian, a nice departure from the traditional chinese food most jews eat on xmas. second year in a row, i believe. and after dinner with the fam, i went over for the annual xmas day visit to shmemily's house to hang out and eat even more food. at one point i threw myself on the kitchen floor in an attempt to stretch out and digest. it didn't work so well, but about an hour and a half later i was definitely eating pie. ugh. megan and ian joined us, which was a delight and definitely completed the family hangout, and then a rather intoxicated and frazzled zachariah rutnik showed up to regale us with his tale of xmas absurdity. i couldn't even begin to describe what it entailed, but if i were to try it would involve dead pheasants, a pig named tri-pod, and watching his hicknasty uncle smoking pot out of a fox skull.
if only i had a camera crew and/or a scribe whenever that boy spoke...he needs his own YouTube channel.
in short, excellent xmas. next: my birthday slash NYE! woot.
actually not true, next: trips to suburban superstores (Target and Wal-Mart) and a quest for the least-offensive warm & fuzzy Ugg-esque slip-on boot! stay tuned.
