and when you're only 23, it's not attractive to complain about your sore back...

woke up early to go to the chiropractor this morning; a follow up visit to when i went in on monday. Dr. Barr, who's been treating my dad since FOR.EV.ER. also wanted me to get x-rays just so he could see what he was really dealing with. i guess to make sure that someone so young actually has a back problem and the pain isn't in my head. i mean, he did some adjustments and could initially FEEL that there was something out of whack, but i guess just to make sure. so, i got x-rays that day and brought them in today.

TURNS OUT! i have arthritis in my back :D and a degenerative join disease! :D and slight scoliosis and my spine doesn't have enough curvature at the base and my right hip is tipped and rotated. COOL! yeah so basically my back pain is real, not imagined. go me. woot. now i'm really nervous about becoming one of those hunchbacked ladies. ugh. i need to go to the gym and strengthen my back or something...

anyway, so i was with my mom and sister and we braved the mall because my mother had some coupons to DSW she had to use. i took the opportunity to browse shoes i don't need/can't afford. these were my most excellent findings:

these were amazing. i really wanted to take them home with me, but they were $60. i mean, it's better than the original $99 but i just dont have 60 bones to spend on shoes i REALLY dont need. but they were SO cute and SO comfy and i may actually try to find them online at a cheaper price...ha.

you know, to be perfectly honest i'm not really into booties, but i LOVE spectator-style shoes and if i were to ever wear a pair, these would be it. sooo cute. Bongo, who knew?

so my best ladies, shmemily and megan, should both be in town tonite. meg and ian are here already, but they got in late last night and today they're doing family stuff, so i probably won't see them until much later tonite or tomorrow night. shmem gets home this evening, i may go crash her xmas eve, we'll see. i'm pretty sure i do every year, so i probably will.

now i'm gonna go try to find something to feed myself because mom refused to take me to Denny's for a Slamburger. lame.

courtesy of one of my bffs, miss chastine vosvick . when i saw it, it made my insides sparkle :) still think i'm getting sick, but going to work today doesn't seem too entirely oppressive as the rain leaves me with two options: stay inside and be utterly unproductive (well, i guess i could keep working on that study sheet for US history...) or stay inside at work and make some money. not the most glorious forecast, but i do look forward to the sunshine in my future.

This morning I received some awful, tragic, devastating news. My younger sister’s good friend suddenly passed away on Tuesday. He was 27-years-old. We’ve known Robert for years. He’s the younger brother of someone I was very good friends with in high school and part of my sister’s very tight knit crew. He had previously lived in NYC and recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in “the industry”. Prior to him moving to his new apartment in Santa Monica, he was staying on our couch while he looked for a place to live. He was an excellent house guest and always a pleasure to have around. I am so mad. I’m so goddamn angry about this. This isn’t supposed to happen, 27-year-old men aren’t supposed to just NOT WAKE UP. Julia wasn’t supposed to lose her younger brother when she’s got a son who needs an uncle. His parents aren’t meant to bury their 2 nd eldest child. New Moon, New Year, New Me (kinda)

Well it's been over two years since I wrote a full entry and sooo so very much has happened since then. So very much that I'm not even going to attempt to detail anything about it, but I will give a quick overview: between Feb 2018 and September 2018 ( just typed October because apparently I have no idea where I am in time anymore... ), I embarked on what I will ( begrudgingly ) call a "spiritual journey" ( oof, that sounds so cheesy ). In mid-to-late 2016, a shift started happening and I really started to dive into a pool I had previously only dipped a toe in ( crystals with Dad, practicing yoga, watching The Secret, astrology, chakras, whatnot ); I knew something was changing inside of me, it was necessary and an upgrade, and I really started "doing the work", as They say.
